Reading Jewish Fiction
A Review of Jewish Books
Dear Readers

I’ve very much enjoyed running and curating Reading Jewish Fiction, but as of January 2025, I am stepping back from this work. All the reviews that came out on the site can also be accessed at The Book Shuk - a feature of Judith, a new online journal that aims to draw awareness and support for Jewish themed work.

Elissa Wald the Editor in Chief of Judith, writes:
"JUDITH -- a magazine of Jewish letters, arts & culture -- is part of an effort to mount a fierce fight against anti-Jewish discrimination in the literary world since October 7th. "Starting from Jan. 2025, the Reading Jewish Fiction Archive will be part of Judith magazine. We will continue the project of reviewing Jewish-themed literature, and to that end, we invite readers to submit book reviews.
Authors seeking review can email me at elissa_karen@msn.com"

As for me, I’ll continue to review books at other venues. You can follow my work through my website (www.janiceweizman.com) as well as my fb page (Janice Weizman) and Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/_janiceweizman_/). And, if you’re looking for something to read, please consider my novels, Our Little Histories, and The Wayward Moon.

I’ll close by thanking the over 1200 readers who have supported this site, but most of all, I want to thank the book reviewers - writers who volunteered their time and effort to read and review books by their peers. I come away from this project with the sense that we, who read and write and think about Jewish literature, comprise a vibrant and vital literary community, which enables the ongoing conversation about the legacy of Judaism in our lives, and in the world.
